- FTRACK -- File Tracking Utility
- Programmed by David Manthey Copyright 1992 11/3/92
-
- FTRACK is a file tracking utility which records exactly
- which files are accessed by DOS. FTRACK can either just
- track file names, or it can also track directories
- associated with filenames.
-
- To track just filenames, run FTRACK.
- To track directories as well as filenames, run FTRACK /D.
-
- To view the files tracked by FTRACK, just type FTRACK a
- second time. All files accessed since FTRACK was started
- will be listed.
-
- FTRACK is especially useful for determining which files
- on your harddrive are never accessed. For instance, if
- you use a C compiler, there are usually several dozen
- files which are never accessed. These files are for
- supporting graphics cards your computer does not use, for
- international keyboard support, etc. Most of these files
- can be safely deleted without any problems. If unsure,
- run FTRACK over the course of several weeks to make sure
- that you do not access these files.
-
- If you use FTRACK, please send a $10 registration fee to
